Education. Heritage. Community.
Youth Learning Network is an award-winning, not-for-profit organisation that encourages and enriches the local community through extracurricular activities, tutoring, mentoring and cultural programmes.
Empowering families across London since 2006
Based in East Dulwich, YLN helps families across London including boroughs of Southwark, Lambeth, Lewisham, Croydon and further afield. We support children in Key Stages 1–4 by working alongside the national curriculum to enhance learning and reinforce key skills.
Our educational programme includes a range of activities that enrich learning, develop academic minds and support maturity, confidence and healthy self-esteem. We have also designed programmes providing young people with the opportunity to experience African Culture and learn about their roots.
Our particular focus has been to provide extra support to children and young people from families of African and Caribbean descent, or those identified as having difficulties in mainstream education.

From hiding at the back to leading a group
When my son started he wouldn't speak in the session. Six months on, he's explaining fractions to a younger child and asked for extra homework. The Saturday team never gave up on him.

I used to get stuck on every page. Now I read whole books and I help my little brother with his reading too. Saturdays are my favourite day.

Three hours on a Saturday is the most worthwhile part of my week. The induction was thorough, the safeguarding support is excellent, and you see the difference immediately.
