Privacy and Cookies
Youth Learning Network Ltd is committed to protecting your personal information and handling it in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Last updated: October 2026
This notice explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, programme registrations, parent accounts, volunteer applications, donations and contact messages. Because much of our work involves children, we apply extra care: children's records are restricted by design, and sensitive details are visible only to the people who need them to keep children safe and support their learning.
Information we collect
When you register a child for our programmes we collect the parent or carer's name, email address and phone number, the child's name, age, key stage, school, the subjects they need support with and any additional information you choose to share, including emergency contacts and relevant medical or accessibility needs. For volunteer and partnership enquiries we collect the details submitted in the relevant form. For donations we collect your name, email address and donation details; card payments are processed by our payment provider and we never see or store your card details.
How and why we use it
We use registration information to run and safeguard our Saturday learning sessions, to contact you about sessions and your child's progress, and to meet our legal safeguarding obligations. We rely on legitimate interests to deliver the service you have requested, legal obligation where safeguarding law requires it, and consent where you have opted in, for example to receive our newsletter. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Who can see personal information
Parents and carers can see only records relating to their own children. Volunteers and staff see only the information they need for their role. We use service providers, including our website platform and payment processor, who process data on our behalf under contract. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for marketing.
Retention and your rights
We keep registration and progress records only as long as a child is active plus a short archive period, and donation records for as long as tax and accounting law requires. You can ask us for a copy of your data, correct it, restrict or object to its use, or ask us to delete it. Email info@YouthLearningNetwork.org and we will respond within one month.
Cookies
This website uses only essential cookies needed for the site to function, such as keeping you signed in, plus privacy-respecting analytics. We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time.
Contact and complaints
