Free mental health support for young people

Trusted local and national services, including school counselling routes and youth-friendly helplines, with what to expect on first contact.

Free help is available without referral or waiting lists. Kooth (kooth.com) provides anonymous online counselling for ages 11-25; Childline (childline.org.uk, 0800 1111) offers phone and chat support for under-19s; and YoungMinds (youngminds.org.uk) has advice for young people plus a parents helpline on 0808 802 5544.

For urgent situations, call NHS 111 and choose the mental health option, or present at any A&E. In Southwark and Lewisham, CAMHS referrals usually come through your GP or school.

Our DBS-checked team can support a conversation about mental health at Saturday sessions, and help you contact the right service. No young person should struggle alone - starting with one conversation is the first step.
